Don’t let anyone tell you what’s right and what’s not. Listen to everyone; your parents, friends, idols, councillors etc. But do what you think is good. What will happen at most? You’ll lose? Well if you ever want to win you have to lose a hell lot of times for that. The bigger your goal is, the more you’re likely to fail. Don’t fret over Failure, it’s a part of life. We often take advices when we want to be perfect and make no mistakes. But life doesn’t work that way. You’ll never be perfect. Always there will be something you regret, something that you’re not happy with. So why follow others when we want to shape our own path. Most successful people have gone out of the “norms” to prove themselves. The people whom you ask and want to follow, Are they all successful? Will they understand your goal in life? Have they achieved similar goals in life? If the answer to these three questions is a NO then I really don’t think it’s worth listening to them. For achieving our goal, our vision, we need to go out of the norm and face all the criticism that comes with it.
Elon Musk faced a hell lot of criticism when he started Tesla, Priyanka Chopra faced a lot of criticism when she did a female centric film in India, Indira Nooyi decided to study in the US which wasn’t normal for Indian girls in those times. If they ever did what people advised them to do then they wouldn’t be where they are. So if you want to ever achieve your goal then do what you like and what makes you feel good. If you let them control your life then you’ll always be seen as a shadow and will never be a person of your own. If you want that pride, the credit and everything that comes with success then be ready to accept the good and bad decisions you make. Trust me, it’ll hurt less if you make bad decisions than it will when you agree on someone else’s bad advice.
