There is always that moment when we think “why me?”
Well these are moments we think that god is being hard on us, or that our luck isn’t in favour.
These times are actually pretty bitter. They make us feel helpless and victimized. But the experience that these times provide us, is just priceless. Some people don’t understand this until later.
A friend of mine had a really difficult personal life, having family issues. He was always frustrated and annoyed because of the situation and atmosphere of his house. I pitied him, I really did. He couldn’t exactly confide in many people because it was way to personal. So only a handful of people knew about this. We all were always trying our best to he supportive and help him in every possible way.
But now, after 8 years of living in an unsettling environment back home, he learnt to find happiness in the smallest of things. He is the epitome of happiness and calmness even though his life has nothing to do with both of the above words. He says that “I know how bad shit can get, so I make sure to appreciate what I have”,
To be honest even though everyone says that one must always appreciate life, very few of us actually do. We don’t understand the true importance of it unless something MAKES us appreciate it.
Today he’s the most emotionally resilient person I know, and I think that even though his personal life was really bad, it did make do one good thing. It made him a fighter. A person who is in control of his emotions and thoughts.
